Audio-Visual Resources

Audio files

We have created audio recordings of some gems from your colleagues in Educational Support. They are from a variety of sources including contributions from our members, course work documents from our training program, and “classic” newsletter articles. The recordings are primarily for teachers; however, like our videos, some are useful for parents as well. The length of each recording is given in parentheses. Read by our board member and AHE graduate Dana Fleming, these recordings provide another kind of resource material for you.

Several additional audio recordings are available in the “Members Only" section of the website. If you are not already a member, please consider joining. For information on how to join, click on "User Accounts" in the menu above.

FREE Videos!

We hope you find inspiration in these free videos of simple exercises to do with individual children or groups whether at home, in classrooms or other group settings. They call upon the child’s developing capacities of spatial orientation, body geography, coordination, visual and auditory perception and other areas which are foundational building blocks in order for children to be successful in school and learning in general. Enjoy!

Additional exercises can be found in our Resource Teacher’s Developmental Exercise Manuals 1 and 2 (available for purchase on the Publications page, under "Resources menu"), and also in the Extra Lesson book by Audrey McAllen.

Several additional videos are available in the "Members Only" section of this website. Please consider becoming a member of AHE ($35 for two years).  Membership also includes access to previous issues of our biannual newsletter and discounts on publications.  For information on how to join, click on "User Accounts" in the menu above.

These games have been around for decades and demonstrate the developmental wisdom found in many children's games. This video includes some of the favorites of many teachers who appreciate something lively but also want to bring activities based on real developmental principles.

This exercise is from Volume 2 of our Developmental Exercise Manual (available for purchase on this website). It requires a lot of concentration; it is therefore good for those with memory challenges. It provides an opportunity to practice a sequence of coordinated steps along with better awareness of left-right and forward-back, done to a fun poem.

The Three-Fold Spiral exercise is one of the very distinct and powerful core exercises developed by Ms Audrey McAllen. Integrating it into 6 weeks of a daily routine will have very beneficial effects for restlessness, disruptive behavior, concentration, and deepening the breathing.
