Teacher Development & Sunbridge College

The Waldorf Remedial Teacher Program, a three year part time program, offers a Master Degree in Waldorf Remedial Education or a professional development option for non-credit study at Sunbridge College in Spring Valley, New York.

Course content interweaves theoretical and practical experience.  Participants study developmental theory, mainstream and alternative practices, healing aspects of Waldorf Education and various assessment techniques. Mentor teachers are assigned to each participant for monthly contact and  to direct the on-site visits with master teachers.  The Arts and Meditation are also included for personal and professional applications.

Child study approaches are unique; based on observation but also including the interaction between subjective, inner responses and objective analysis. The goal of the course is to provide tools for perceiving the individuality of each child, helping with their hindrances but acknowledging their gifts and processes.

Faculty includes:  master teachers, specialists in early stage movement, remedial teachers, brain development researchers, doctors and alternative therapists.
